On an unrelated note i did some photo editing tutorials from Gnomon workshop featuring Megan Tara Farell (not so sure if i spelled it right) Shes obviously done some high end magazine cover photo editing considering how Meticulous she was in her video tutorials! Some stuff that she did i was thinking myself really? You have to go that detailed and that far off? but hey, i guess thats the world of fashion and advertising. Its all about the image. Overall learned a few new kinks to photoshop which is quite helpful in terms of conserving time. and yea, the meticulous detail of editing fashion portraits.... Malaysia Under International Spotlight!

I am proud to say that Malaysia is featured in the latest issue of 3D World magazine! Finally our talents here are recognized on the global stage and hopefully this is the beginning of many wonderful things to come for Malaysian Animation.

The magazine features a 32 page special on Notable Malaysian Studios such as Igloo-Digital Arts , Animonsta Studios , Les Copaque , Netcarbon , International power house Rhythm and Hues , Shock 3D , Silver Ant and Young Jump Animation.

3D World conducted a meeting for the heads of each studio to sit down and discuss the key challenges facing the industry. It was a good read on that part where they covered issues of talents in Malaysia, Education, Malaysian mindsets, Asian competitors, Future of Malaysian Animation, etc. Apart from the discussion, they also interviewed each studio mentioned and featured some of their current and future projects. Its such a great issue so i would suggest any other Malaysian or anyone at all to get it and have a read on the magazine!

The future of animation in Malaysia has never been brighter! :D

Closet needs some Organizing

Had to organize my clothes into different catagories coz its just too messy and jumbled up right now and its costing me precious time and effort. So hopefully this new system will help fasten my clothes picking time. Definitely can be better but this is the starting point :) Anyone with better suggestions pls do let me know and share. In the name of FASHION!!

New Workspace for the New Year :D

Two days before my college started i thought that my room and workspace needed a facelift so i spent those two days just cleaning up haha! The hardest part was organising my monthly art magazines and artbooks.. It looks much cleaner in real life somehow :P Now i feel much better when i have to do work.. Was actually inspired by the simple words of Chris Orwig which states " Your workspace needs to be a place where it empowers your creativity" So its not a bad start for me i guess haha. :D

A new layout for a New Year

Happy New Year to anyone who is visiting my blog!! I was and still am trying to figure out how to apply an awesome blogskin to my blog but i encountered HTML coding problems.. I just wana change the whole look of my blog because its a fresh start of a new year so i want things to look optimistic and bright and nice as oppose to the layout before this which was black and gloomy..So for now i have to settle for one of blogger's template.

Im also planning to start a new blog so i have one blog for my art life so that i can share any art knowledge, events, goings on and my artworks of course :) .. So this blog will sorta be my life blog.

Quick rundown of 2010 resolutions:

1) Keep on working hard and try to improve or learn ANYTHING art related or film industry related everyday even if its minor. Discipline!!

2) Get into Rhythm and Hues and head to India for their 6 month training program and hopefully work on a hollywood movie by december 2010 even if its an insignificant role :P

3) Maintain gym and keep healthy fit!

4) Try to share any knowledge or facts with people whether its online or face to face to cultivate a better learning and sharing attitude.

5) Be MORE Organise in everything if possible!

Stan Helsing was a hugeee!! letdown!! damn i was so excited when i saw the cover coz the "executive producer" of scary movie was stated there and the poster was similar to all the scary movies where they have the cast with scared expressions in a cinema.. I wanted a nice movie to watch for a break off from work so i bought it and watched it... but it was bad.. dissapointing.. The actors were not so good well, except for Kenan.. haha but the other unknown actors.. were trying so hard that it kinda showed on screen that they were abit uncomfortable so they couldnt pulloff the characters.. less expresive more to trying to keep their cool.. The script.. was not as good as the scary movies.. When i watched this i only laughed at certain parts but to me i didnt had that scary movie feeling when i watched this.. Felt like they were trying to sell this movie with sex coz most of the movie was about hot girls dancing, stripping, looking seductive and sexy.. The ending was anti climatic and boring..It drained my soul and towards the end i couldnt enjoy it but ended up looking for faults.. With that said its not ALL bad. There are funny scenes.. i guess..

Just recently my mom, older brother and sister went off to Johor Bahru for 2 days, their coming back today but i dont know when.. So whos left over here is my dad, my other younger sister and myself of course.. What i realised is that the house environment and ambience is totally different.. its more quiet, more dark because lights arent turned on as much, and you feel like wait a minute.. wheres everyone?.. But thats not my point of the whole topic.. throughout this 2 days with the abscence of my mother, sister and brother, most of the time its me and my dad at home coz my other sister is out most of the time socialising..

So, i was doing my assignments in the room as usual and i went to the kitchen to get a drink and a break. Then i saw my dad with kitchen stuff everywhere, it was a mess the freezer was defrosting so it was wide open and the contents were on the dining table, appliances and microwaves unplugged, mop on the floor, curtains took off and so its just natural for me to think that my dad was doing a big cleanup for the kitchen. I took my drink and went back to my room and continued working all day while i could hear sounds from the kitchen of my dad shifting stuff, nailing, throwing, sliding, gliding haha.. well not sliding or gliding but it would be cool if he was doing that while cleaning everything up.

Hours passed and i took another break from work.. i decided to walk around the house, get a drink and get some fresh air outside. I went to the kitchen and my dad wasnt there but the kitchen was much more cleaner, organised and smelled good somehow..So i took another drink and walked to the front living room heading towards the front door to get some fresh air. Then i saw my dad watching tv by himself.. still with his cap and clothes that he wore working in the kitchen.. Well it may be something not so special or crazy or unique to see everyday at home but somehow when i saw that.. it made me think... why all of a sudden he decided to take this big effort to cleanup the kitchen all by himself while my mom and sister and brother was not at the hse?.. well safe to say my other sister can be counted as absent too coz shes out almost 24/7.. So after staring at him from the back watching tv and thinking, i just came to my own conclusion that he did it to suprise my mom. and the fact that he loves my mom thats why he wants to suprise her in a way..and that thought itself brought me into thinking a whole other stuff too like why didnt i helped him? why he didnt ask for my help? I came to my own conclusion again that maybe he understands that i have responsibilities now and assignments from my college. Before this he would always ask me or one of my siblings for help without fail if he is working on something. and that made me think even more that eventhough my father is sometimes strict and short tempered, going through financial problems and all.. he has always love this family and always meant good and had good intentions eventhough some of them didnt work out or wasnt the right way for us..

I was talking to a close friend of mine about family.. and how we could not find any other unconditional love that only our family can give.. Its true, its honest and its unconditional.. and the responsibilities of me myself right now towards them after they have took care of me from day 1 at the hospital and fed me and gave me education.. Its human nature for all of us to take our families or in particular, our parents for granted because we see them everyday, we talk to them everyday and we get money from them everyday... that image of my dad sitting and watching tv by himself surrounded by darkness coz the lights werent on somewhat gave me a whole new perspective.. and my emphathy for him.. as a son, i feel that i should give back to my parents for all their hardships, frustration and stress that was experienced by them just to make sure that we have a bright future.. we might not get certain things that they do as a child, but maybe when were in their shoes, we would know how it feels like.. I would consider myself to be still young and the future is untold and unknown for me, but what i do know is my appreciation for my parents. How they had to grow together as a cpl to a married cpl to becoming parents and also my current responsibilities to them to give back as much as i can and make them proud and happy to see their child succeed in life. As we grow older the amount of responsibilities grow as well so, i was glad that this "occasion" happened if not, i wouldnt be thinking of all this, and writting this post on my blog..

Patience and Composure

Its high time to maintain composure and go through all these life challenges with lots and lots of patience.. had a good conversation with a close friend of mine which calmed me down for a bit and made me feel slightly better. Been going through alot of drama and stress lately.. Gotta start focus focus focus!! apologies to everyone and more love to the world.

Interior for business plan "Date" restaurant

Just for the sake of blogging i shall post this.. 3D interior for our business plan presentation. So this is one part of our restaurant "Date".. i was in charge of doing the "comfy inside section" where else my other two teammates from DG are in charge of the other 2 which is the middle section and the outdoor seatings. I managed to finish this in one and a half day from modeling and texturing and lighting, went all the way. kinda suprised myself.. but then again, its not such a huge setting~ so yea.. here are some more diff angles not much..

Ehhh just a drawing i did for business class. Proposal for our restaurant's waiter uniform. simple basic casual is the aim so yea nuthin fancy.. i have to render this out but just gona render it simple.. But the problem with me i tend to have this tendency to go the extra mile for a work that doesnt require that much attention. Its not a good thing all the time~ so ill try.. the girls head is a bit too big for her body and ive corrected that~ :)

R.I.P to the king of pop Michael Jackson. Sad sad moment.. Grew up with his songs and more than anything his songs give hope, inspiration and admiration to anyone who listens.. a huge loss to the music and entertainment world..His music to me is more than just the good tune that keeps you verbally entertained but its the messages that he sends through it too. To make the world a better place. my salute and prayers goes out to him and his family. Wtvr happened the news and controversies and allegations concerning him... he deserves a final applause for his contribution in music. rest in peace.

transformers 2 revenge of the fallen was awesome!!!

Dammit i cannot begin on how awesome transformers 2 was for me! shizz the CG and animation was double up from the first one and there was more robot combat which was wicked. There was a few suprising twists in the movie which was good coz it helped enhance the story and not make it thatt much of a typical action movie.. But SHIZZ the animation was so crazy it blasted my mind!!
Not just Michael Bay but the whole crew from the production crew to the illustrators to the animators to the modelers to the digital artists to the stunt ppl to the compositors to the scriptwrites who contributed to this movie deserves an applause for their hard work. I dont wana be talking abt the movie coz its still early and it just came out so i wudnt wana be the spoiler for anyone.
All i know is im watching it again..haha.. 1st time was to enjoy the story and the whole visual experience.. 2nd time is to enjoy it again AND try to analyse the movie. no plans to watch it the 3rd time though but most probably i will.shizz...
